iStreamPlanet selected by NBC Sports to provide Live Web Broadcast Experience of The 2010 US Open Golf Tournament at Pebble Beach and Championships 2010 at Wimbledon

iStreamPlanet chosen by NBC Sports to spearhead content acquisition, encoding, origin and content management including live ads insertion and Rough Cut Editor.

LAS VEGAS, June 29, 2010 -- iStreamPlanet, a provider of digital media services, infrastructure and software applications, announced today that it was selected by NBC Sports to help deliver the recently completed US Open live from Pebble Beach and Wimbledon June 21-July 4 live from the All England Lawn Tennis Club at Wimbledon. iStreamPlanet was contracted to provide content acquisition at its location in Las Vegas as well as on-site web broadcast management for the encoding of the live feeds and ingesting them in its Olympics Origin located at SuperNAP datacenter in Las Vegas, Nevada. Additionally, NBC has been leveraging iStreamPlanet’s Content Management System for video workflow and metadata management and publishing as well as for live mid-roll ads insertion and creations of highlights and other video on-demand assets using Rough Cut Editor, a web-based media editor.

For the US Open, iStreamPlanet down-linked and encoded two live feeds from their Webcast Operations Center in Las Vegas. iStreamPlanet is managing the encoding of the live content for The Championships at Wimbledon for the main NBC feed by down-linking it in their Webcast Operations Center in Las Vegas and encoding it there. Additionally, iStreamPlanet has a team onsite in London encoding three outer-court feeds for a total of four live concurrent feeds.
